Weber makes Quad-Cities stop

"Toughness and togetherness is something we have talked about over and over again since the season ended," Weber said Wednesday prior to the Illini Caravan's first visit to the Quad-Cities in 15 years.

"Moving forward, that is where everything has to start. We have to play with greater toughness and we must work together if we want to get to where we all want to be."

Weber spoke to a group of around 125 Fighting Illini fans at the Oakwood Country Club, telling them the addition of as many as seven newcomers will help reinvigorate a program that finished 20-14 and reached the second round of the NCAA tourney a year ago, but struggled with the consistency needed to contend for a Big Ten title.
