Foreign, domestic hurdles for Illini newcomers

Weber indicated last week that incoming guard Devin Langford from Huntsville, Ala., might also be close when it comes to surpassing initial eligibility requirements. Langford, who led Huntsville Lee to high school state title-game appearances in each of the past two seasons, signed a letter of intent in April.
"I think he's going to make it,'' Weber said. "We just have to wait and see until they get everything OK'd.''
Assistant coach Jerrance Howard sat at O'Hare International Airport in Chicago while flights south were canceled that day, or he might have arrived just in time to be in the path of the storm, Weber said. Howard's trip was planned to check Langford's academic progress and russle up the paperwork.
