Kirby ineligible
With the loss of Kirby and East St. Louis defensive tackle Clint Tucker, Illinois now is at the limit of 25 incoming scholarship players. Tucker will attend prep school with a plan to enroll at Illinois in the future.
With most of the grades and test scores accounted for, the rest of the 2011 recruiting class is in good shape academically.

A U of I spkesman tells me the report of Dondi Kirby's ineligiblity may be premature - says its still too early to know for sure.
Don't expect an official ruling on Dondi Kirby's status until "way later" in the summer.
