Illinois basketball: The state of the program

When Rivals lists your coach as 'on the hot seat' in a front page national column, it usually isn't a good thing for your program. Bruce Weber has pressure on him to win this season. If he does, you may see a coach that is here for another 10 years. For at least the next 4 years the talent level is going to be extremely high, and if Illinois wins this season it should keep the recruiting momentum rolling in the loaded 2013 and 2014 in state classes.

This is a make or break season for Weber, who is one of the good guys in the coaching profession. Most would love to see him succeed and continue on at Illinois for the foreseeable future, but the Illini are set up to win over the next 4 years either way. Now, they just need to go out and get it done on the court.
