The Illini basketball reunion featured Bill Self's Big Ten champions in 2001 and 2002, but the rock stars of 2005 stole the show. You knew they would. To open the third quarter, the quintet that won 29 straight and reached the NCAA title game was back together, firing crisp passes and sharing two baskets apiece by Williams, Dee Brown and James Augustine and three by Roger Powell while former sixth man Jack Ingram filled in for absent Luther Head.
"That was fun," said Williams, who'll soon resume business in Turkey while waiting for the NBA to end its lockout. "It was good getting everyone back, to just hang out together and get back on the court."
