Michael Orris commits to Illinois

Make no mistake about it folks--Michael Orris had a soft spot for the University Of Illinois from the moment that Illini head coach Bruce Weber started recruiting him. It therefore comes as virtually no surprise that after officially receiving a scholarship offer today while on an official visit to the Champaign campus with his family Orris verbally committed to the Illini. Orris ended up choosing Illinois over offers from Nebraska, Creighton and Northern Illinois and strong interest from Boston College and Virginia.

As most everyone knows, Orris had previously committed to Creighton this past Spring. However, Orris ended up reneging on that commitment as he felt he had been pressured into making a hasty decision and hadn't able to fully go through the recruiting process. Once he reopened his recruitment, there was no question that Illinois was a serious player.
