A prime-time performance

It might be too early to start pounding your chest for a Top 25 rating.

But Saturday provided evidence that something positive is developing because, based on recent history, this was the kind of game the Illini haven't been winning ... not against a ranked team ... not against a Pac-12 foe ... not when they're trailing in the fourth quarter.

Credit Jonathan Brown, Tavon Wilson and a gritty defense that produced six sacks and two interceptions in a 17-14 victory against Arizona State on a glorious night at Memorial Stadium.
