Indiana put up a fight against heavily favored Penn State at Bloomington. In front of 42,621, the Hoosiers led 3-0 deep into the second quarter before the Nittany Lions tied it on a late field goal. Penn State went up by 10 on a 74-yard touchdown pass from Matt McGloin to Derek Moye. Indiana scored a late touchdown on a 5-yard pass from Dusty Kiel to Ted Bolser. Kiel finished with 184 passing yards, hitting 22 of 45 passes. Indiana was held to 72 rushing yards.
