Ohio State's QB situation twists out of control

Onto the field in Miller's place trotted fifth-year senior Joe Bauserman, whose stock has plummeted since an efficient opening-week performance against Akron. Since then, Bauserman was barely serviceable against Toledo and so dreadful on the road against Miami that he was relegated to mop-up duty behind Miller.

But Saturday was no mop-up role for the former baseball pitcher. He entered with a 27-13 lead, but neither he nor the Buckeyes defense could hold it, as the Cornhuskers scored the game's final 28 points.

Bauserman completed 1 of 10 passes for 13 yards and threw an interception that set up Nebraska's go-ahead touchdown. He was not, however, plagued by drops that hampered him in earlier foibles.
