Illini AD Thomas to 'assess' Zook at season's end

Amid growing speculation about head football coach Ron Zook's job status following a four-game losing streak and off-the-field incidents over the weekend, athletic director Mike Thomas said that he has not made a decision about the seven-year coach's future with the team.

"I'll assess the situation, the whole body of work, at the end of the season," said Thomas, who left Cincinnati for Illinois in August. "That's when we'll assess where we are as a program."
