If it's Beckman, I'm happy

I'm happy if Tim Beckman is the guy. And if Vic stays to coach the defense. I'm very happy. Maybe even VERY happy. Not thrilled. Thrilled is reserved for Sumlinning. But happy with our Plan B.
As I've said several times over the last few years, I'm a "build a program" guy. I don't want the hot new offense. I don't want a crazy new scheme. I want a football program at the University of Illinois. I want consistency (like Ferentz at Iowa), I want schemes you can recruit to (like Alvarez and Bielema at Wisconsin), and I want a slow and steady climb (to complete this pukefectra, like Gary Pinkel at Missouri). Coordinators can come and go, schemes can evolve, but there's one guy at the center driving the ship.
