Simeon's Kendrick Nunn to visit Illinois

Simeon junior guard Kendrick Nunn, an ESPNU Super 60 recruit, has quickly become a priority for newly named Illinois coach John Groce and plans to visit Champaign later this week.

Nunn's father, Melvin Nunn, said Monday he has already spoken twice to Groce since he was hired on Thursday, and he and his son will make an unofficial visit to Illinois on Thursday.

"He's aggressive and honest," Melvin said of Groce. "He said Kendrick is his man. He gave me the story about when he was at Ohio State and how he got all those guys -- Mike Conley Jr., Greg Oden, Daequan Cook. He thought it was one guy -- Daequan -- who started it there for them. He thought Kendrick could be the same for Illinois."
