Camp Rantoul: Tuesday morning practice thoughts
August 7, 2012 7:54 PM
I did the exact opposite of yesterday during the two practices -- watched mostly offense. And of the offense, I watched mostly offensive line. One quick note before I get to the players who stuck out to me: Andrew Carter was helping out at this practice (and yesterday). Not in uniform, just a student volunteer. Carter was a 4-star recruit out of Florida in the 2009 class who had his career cut short by a tumor near his ear. He was moved to a medical hardship scholarship and quit football.
So I think it's pretty darn cool that he's out there at practice helping his old teammates as a volunteer. He'd still have a year left in school if I'm doing my math right, so for him to spend his summer helping the team by carrying the blocking pads or moving a blocking sled is pretty awesome.
OK, so here's the second and third string offensive linemen who stuck out to me.
