Stripe the Stadium vs Penn State highlights 2012 promotions schedule

Stripe the Stadium
For the Sept. 29 game against Penn State, the DIA will once again be asking fans to "Stripe the Stadium" orange and blue. Last season's inaugural Stripe the Stadium game against Ohio State was a huge success and we hope to make this year's bigger and better. Fans attending the game are encouraged to wear either orange or blue clothing depending on the section where their seats are located. Fans seated in the odd-numbered sections and the entire north end zone are asked to wear orange, while fans in the even-numbered sections should wear blue. In addition, the premium seating areas are encouraged to get in on the action this year. See Stripe the Stadium map for details.

Illini Walk
The Illini Walk will have a different look this year, starting two-and-a-half hours prior to game time at the corner of First Street and Kirby Avenue and serving as the official kickoff for Street Fest at each home game. Led by the Marching Illini and Illini cheerleaders, the football team will walk through the Street Fest area down First Street to Irwin Drive, then along the north end of Memorial Stadium. Fans are encouraged to line First Street and cheer on the players as they enter the stadium. Following the Illini Walk, the Marching Illini and cheerleaders will perform briefly for tailgaters as Street Fest gets underway.

Street Fest
During each Illini Street Fest, a free, public concert will be held at the main stage, which will be located at the corner of First and Irwin facing south. A different band will perform each game day prior to kickoff (see below for schedule). In addition to the concert, Illini Street Fest will feature several family-friendly, free activities at each game, such as inflatable games, a mini golf course and face painting. Vendors will also be available for fans to purchase food and drink. In addition, an Illini information booth will be set up for fans to get posters, plus Kids Club, I Fund and other Illinois Athletics information. At selected games, Illinois athletic teams will make appearances and sign autographs.
