Illinois ready to attack as season starts

"I've always said freshmen want to play, sophomores want to start, juniors want to score and seniors want to win," the first-year head coach said as the University of Illinois prepared to open its season tonight against Colgate.

"You hope that's not true all the time and some of the younger guys can figure it out earlier."

Indeed, Groce is hoping every player has the selfless mindset of a senior, because winning has been in short supply within the Illini basketball program.
