"I think it was just as good, if not better, than how Taylor does it," Brown said. "And I think there was no better way that we could have welcomed Coach Groce. The Silent Night tradition is one of the best traditions in all of college basketball, and we were able to welcome him ... with something equally as good."
So, was this the start of a new Illini tradition? Will there be an Orange Hush next season and beyond? Brown said his group wasn't willing to commit to anything at this point.
"Right now it's not planned as being a tradition," he said. "We'll talk about it as a Krush. Well talk to Coach Groce. We'll see if this is something we want to continue, but right now we're thinking this is a one-time thing to welcome the Groce family into Ilini Nation."
