Team toughened by rigorous schedule is overjoyed to be free from the grind of the Big Ten and unleashes a torrent of 3-point shots on Colorado. Enough of them go in that the Illini advance to take on Miami and use the same formula to shoot down the Hurricanes in a major upset. Illinois then beats Cinderella Bucknell before losing to Indiana.
