EIU transfer G Alex Austin

Alex Austin has left the EIU program after two years and is interested in walking on at Illinois. Before anything begins on that front, Austin has to be admitted into school at Illinois. If that happens, there's a good chance he'd join the team as a walk-on. Alex averaged 8.2 points in two seasons for the Panthers. He's a 6-foot-4 guard and played high school ball at Mount Carmel with Tracy Abrams. His dad, Woody Austin, played at Purdue and was Mr. Basketball in Indiana in 1988.
