Interesting: News-Gazette story 5/11 said Coach and team checked out Stanford Golf Course last fall (during Pebble Beach/Cypress trip). I think rules say you can't play a course within a year of a regional or a national. At least they got to see the course. Smart, Coach Small, thinking your team...

Per Illinois golf website a few minutes ago: Jackson, Max, Ryan, Tyler, Piercen, Ethan (alternate).

It's now 5 p.m. No word on team and alternate (s?). Other schools have announced, but not Illinois. I don't understand; the regional starts tomorrow. The team is certainly in Palo Alto. I'm sure the team will be announced soon after my post. That's the way things go with my timing. I hope so...

Watching replay of Cubs-Brewers game. I say there's a lot of talent on that there Cubs team, especially the fielding. Long season, though. If there's anything more exciting in sports than a play at the plate in baseball, I'd like to know what it is.
