I believe its the job of the coaches to get the best players every year. You don't recruit lesser players because you recruited player A the year before. If you followed that mentality you would never improve and only recruit players that are not as good your next year.

That team also has Dee, James & Deron (on the team for three years), Roger and Luther (on the team for 4 years). Plus additional 1, 2 and 3 year players. Much more continuity than this team. This team came together very quickly relatively speaking.

I also think it should be a percentage of wins in the season rather than 20 win season. In 1989 I think the amount of regular season games was less than it is now. It is easier to get to 20 wins now than it was due to the amount of games. In 1984 when we got screwed at Kentucky the final...
