Looking at the non-con schedule Brad is putting together, I am guessing he has a high degree of confidence that Illinois will put a high quality team on the court in 24-25.
Won't be long until the NBA sees college teams as a 'G' league. They draft players that need development then send them down to an affiliated college team, along with a big bag of cash and a contract allowing the player to be recalled to the NBA team at any time.
I am assuming that if Brad took off a few days for trip to Eastern Europe just as we entered the final days of "Portal Combat", it is much more than a fishing expedition or a look at some potential 'project' guys. I'm guessing he is closing in on some serious talent.
Seems he got his degree in three years at the NAIA school he attended. He was working on a grad degree at Evansville. Coordinating those credits with a UI Grad Degree program may take a few days to iron out.
That is all true, but Memphis seems to have an abundance of NIL funding from FedEx, headquartered in Memphis, in addition to other very wealthy donors. Money doesn't always attract the best players, but it does attract a few... and that's all they need.. 3 or 4 a year.
