One of the many, many things I loved about this season was Robert tweeting out the "it's been 1,488 days" or whatever since Wisconsin beat Illinois or since Michigan beat Illinois.

Well, give or take a few leap years, and I didn't take much math during my time at Illinois, think it's been around 6,939 days since Illinois played a Sweet 16 game. Here's hoping we never come close to that long of a drought again. We beat Bruce Pearl in this spot the last time we were in it, didn't think it could get better than that. But after a wait like we've endured, going to be even sweeter when we win tonight.

I wonder if Ty or Domask (most likely) will attack the center who is coming over to double team near half court. Does BU set up picks for that center who is coming over, to cause delay. How will Illinois height and aggression at the guard position lessen the impact. Waiting for the double team is playing into their hands, attacking the center and the spot he vacates is a key.

Thinking this could be a big QG game. They are going to trap, and you know they are going to focus on TSJ/MD/CH, he should have some open lanes and open shots, not too mention some put back dunk opportunities.

This will be the difference: if QG and Harmon show up and hit open shots, everything will open up.

If they aren't factors, it could be a long game.

And please don't let CH or TSJ get quick fouls. . .

Just wanted to say I enjoyed seeing what Illini fans had to say about the matchup, if Illinois does beat the Cyclones, I’ll be pulling for them to win the whole thing. I have no intention of posting on here again unless the Cyclones and Illini meet up down the road in future years. Take care all!

Do you guys get as anxious/nervous about this as I do? I'm only 44 y/o but I feel like once I get older I'm going to have to stop following my sports teams to safeguard my (heart) health.

When the game starts it intensifies 10000000000x lol
All I can say is , at 72 , I feel the same way as I have for the last 60 + years ..........the gif says it all...........

I think (and hope) the Illini win tonight. Regardless, I would like to thank the coaches, players...and fans for making this one of the most entertaining, enjoyable Illini seasons ever for me. The highs have been really high, only one of the lows (PSU) really low and they bounced back quickly. As a fan, I couldn't ask for more (unless, of course, it is cutting down the nets in Phoenix/Glendale).
