UConn fans is truly a breath of fresh air compared to ISU fans, at least on the internet.

Good point. It would put us in Championship game. Still I would rather face anybody but Zack.

Glad he is graduating.

How do u beat UCONN

As a team TSJ scoring 30 won’t be enough
Need MD Hawkins in double digits along with a couple more

Have to limit turnovers and make free throws. Toughest game of the year but I think the PU games are a good foundation
Seth Davis pointed out they haven't really played great competition. We might just punch them in the mouth and they won't know what hit em!

So just a thought here, but what if it winds up every free throw we bricked last night was a means to not unbalance the universe when we go 31 for 31 from the line tomorrow, needing every single one of them to clinch a spot in the Final 4.

UCONN in my opinion is the best team in the tourney, but play loose and free and with effort and limit the mistakes and you give yourself a shot. And that’s all you can do in these type of matchups- give yourself a chance, and once you've got that chance, never allow them to pry it away from you. Let's do this.

Playing Purdue has prepared us for UConn..

I wonder if Hurley will put Clingan on Ty..
Ty will have to live in that short corner or might be tough game for him to find minutes.

Hawkins should be xfactor again gotta make Clingan guard in space.

I’d assume Ty or Marcus will check Spencer, can’t let him feel comfortable

Contain Spencer from hitting 3's. To me, when they need a bucket, they run a play for him. Otherwise, similar to us, their athletes make plays for themselves and their 2 bigs clean up.

We match their size overall. They have not been in a close matchup that tests their nerves. I think this comes down to the wire and Orange reigns supreme.

Domask hits FTs late. They run a play to win but it rims out. Check your heart rate.

Illini: 87
UConn: 86

I know TSJ gets most of the praise, and rightfully so, but I have a hard time coming up with an Illini in recent history who is more fundamentally sound than Domask.

Dude flat out makes the right read, right pass, right shot in every situation. He makes everyone around him better and does it without ever looking rattled or sped up. The way he uses his pivot foot to escape trouble and buy time for the pass or shot is something of beauty.

Just a couple possessions into that game last night it was obvious that the game plan was to intentionally draw the double with Marcus. Make their strength their weakness. It worked. It worked to the point that ISU would have been smart to stop doing it.

I don't know anything about UCONN other than their record. I do know that with TSJ, Domask, Hawkins and the supporting cast of characters, this team can do something special.

Whatever happens on Saturday, this season is a success in my book. We got to an Elite 8, we beat a legit top 10 team who beat Houston twice, and we have gotten to witness one of the most connected teams in Illinois history(up there with 2005 team, 1989 team, early 2000s teams).

To be the best, you have got to beat the best. If we beat UConn, we are legit national title contenders. If we lose to UConn, it's b/c they're the better team. Either way, the season is a success. The guys will have to have the game of their lives but we don't count them out at this point
The team has been an emphatic illini success since the win over Duquesne. Everything after that has all been legacy. 3 more. Let’s go
