All the media would have to do to make it seem more fair would be to say the charges arose from an alleged interaction of less than a minute in a campus bar. If they really wanted to be fair they could also add that he has not been formally charged with a crime as there has yet to be a probable cause hearing.
If they say anything more than he was accused, particularly in a national outlet, it could be claimed that the jury pool was tainted and drag this out longer as they seek a change of venue. Then he'd really need to settle or give up on the NBA Draft.

You want that for Shannon?

This Fighting Illini team can win this game. That is not hope, that is cold hard realism. It is in their grasp, after the several ups and downs that have honed this team over the past season and recently preceding ones too. It is such a privilege to support a group of guys like this team.

I haven’t seen anybody else do this so I’ll just leave it here

I remember that "pimp daddy Hugh Hefner" had picked the Illini and UNC in the championship before the season even started. I know this because I read the articles in his magazines, among other things

Wink Flirting GIF

Fun Fact:

As curious flight instructors at the UofI, when weather killed a flight period...we had to find other things to occupy us if students didn't want to do ground discussion.
One day we made our way to the basement records room at Willard and found Hugh Hefner's private pilot flight records cards with his signatures from his time at the UofI in the late 40's. I don't think he ever took a check ride to get his private pilot's license though.

I always wonder if it would be worth any money. 🤷‍♂️

(we did not steal it for the record:LOL:)

People always playing the victim these days is an epidemic in America. The most powerful people in the country are all poor victims of the boogeyman media.

I believe all the national articles I have read have been fair. They clearly explain the details of the alleged incident which is fair for an all American on the biggest stage. Heck your local news does this everyday with no names in your community. Actually, he has been formally charged.

Did you object to news stories last year regarding the Alabama player who brought a gun to an incident that resulted in death. Were stories about him unfair to point this out revolving around one of the best players in the tournament?

Most of these people complaining probably haven't actually read any articles and complain about pay walls. Then likely simultaneously complain about news outlets looking for clicks to drive ad revenue.

Journalists don't work for free any more than we do.

Random CT takes: My best friend has lived nearly his entire life in Hartford, CT. We spoke today and he had no idea Connecticut was rated #1, nor was he really interested. While it is an OK school, he said most people there look down on it and try to go to school out of state if they can, unless they can get into Yale (He went to Villanova). He’s also said Storrs (where the campus is) is pretty awful. While UConn does have a big alumni base of fans, apparently not many other people in the state really care. To be fair, I told him I’m not sure many people in Illinois care about the tourney either if they didn’t attend UI, but at least it’s a respected school.

I recently got back from a local casino..........Up $2000 baby!!!!!!! Now I know that my prediction will be on point. TSJ continues to prove that he's the best player in the tourney. I have a strong feeling that 29 will be the number. MD will have his bounce back game with another "near" triple double. 7 point Illini win.

Tyler enjoying the ride…
“Trollman Hawkins” 🤣

WARNING: Wall of text coming at ya. I’ll try to break it up into readable paragraphs.

Tyler has caught some flak through the years, but this is just super groovy… seeing his affect on his pappy during certain points throughout the season, having their moments to level each other out by a glance or revel in the glory of this sublime ride we are all enjoying.

Brad does seem a bit softer and easier to adjust this year. I like it, and I don’t think it’s a total coincidence that it occurs as his son has come into his own and earned respect as a voice on the staff. Goodman is a d-bag most of the time, but this interview was neat.

The kid has helped with X/O’s and gotten to share some amazing memories with his old man. Just…. Very cool.

Anyways… I’ve rambled too long. Like some/most of you, I’ve lurked/posted/been obsessed, constantly/sporadically since the Brumby days and appreciate this ride so, so very much. I’ve been at a loss for words lately.

It’s so hard to stay positive in the present tense and most of us come here for the bread and circus… I unfortunately and tragically lost both of my parents over the last 2.5 years, both huge fans going back to childhood. Bled orange and blue all of my life.

Andy Kaufmann’s mom was one of my brother’s dorm parents at ISD in Jacksonville back in the late 80’s/early 90’s. The roots are deep.

I feel a good amount of catharsis right now and I love this team, this experience, along with each and every one of you. This is all just a ride. A f@cking rollercoaster, and it shouldn’t be any other way. Enjoy this ride, brothers and sisters 🧡💙

Really impressed with the UConn board, especially compared to ISU’s online cesspool. Not nearly as active as Loyalty but some good insights and great content moderation. All discussion of TSJ case is locked down since the accusations “should play out in court” and it “isn’t the place for it”. Anyone who asks details are advised to Google it themselves. That’s class. Bravo, Boneyard! https://the-boneyard.com/

I'm not sure if anyone posted this yet...but...I absolutely love your new profile pic. Daddy better have a water cannon for tonight! The only thing that would lock this in is if Lville threw in a like. Wishful thinking?

First team since 05 that I don’t worry about the moment, who we are playing, etc.
Speaking of '05................

A "prime time" ILLINI victory tonight on CBS over the mighty #1 UConn Huskies does more for our brand than any other single event since the 2005 undefeated streak and National Championship run.

Naturally, there's 2 hours of TV entertainment with much of American tuned-in, but then also a full week of additional exposure by all of the pundits and talking heads leading up to the Final Four in Phoenix. Maximum Exposure potential.

These upcoming 120 minutes just might be POWERFUL!

Except for the fact that we’re on TBS. Regardless, it’s going to garner a lot of attention from the fans and a large contingent of transfer members and recruits.
