I'm thinking a team full of good players, all getting 100 to 500,000 dollars would have issues in the locker room if it was known that a kid no one had heard of a few weeks ago waltzed into the program with 2 million in his pocket.
Looking at the non-con schedule Brad is putting together, I am guessing he has a high degree of confidence that Illinois will put a high quality team on the court in 24-25.
Won't be long until the NBA sees college teams as a 'G' league. They draft players that need development then send them down to an affiliated college team, along with a big bag of cash and a contract allowing the player to be recalled to the NBA team at any time.
I am assuming that if Brad took off a few days for trip to Eastern Europe just as we entered the final days of "Portal Combat", it is much more than a fishing expedition or a look at some potential 'project' guys. I'm guessing he is closing in on some serious talent.
