How? Losing Tilmon isn't ideal for us and doubly so if he goes there. But how else have they "owned" us this off season? Seriously?

They kind of got the #1 recruit in the nation. Cuonzo Martin is a garbage coach but it couldn’t be any worse for Illinois for him to go to Missouri. That’s just a giant killer.

It could've been worse. He could've went to Indiana.

Porter was never coming here and the Illini will play Porter a grand total of 1 time ever

there is so much in this sentence to fear, I really, really hope this turns for the better quick, or everything about this fire/hire looks totally different

Are you trying to say because Walker got retained and we may not get Tilmon, that you'd prefer to have kept Groce?

No need to get worked up about this stuff. How foolish do people who were obsessing over Cliff Alexander look now?

The info I shared was correct. Brad got played to keep Walker his job.

Let's just pretend this is true for a bit. If you think Underwood and Whitman couldn't connect the dots after the fact on this you're naive. It'd be such a short-sighted plan. There'd be no way he'll be around much longer if this is what is playing out - which I don't believe that it is.

Tilmon certainly would have been great to have here, but I just don't care. I know it's a minority opinion, but I just can't get worked up over his leaving. It doesn't bother me one bit.

Tilmon was never here to begin with. I'd love for him to stay....but I don't see it happening.

In taking this information into account, if I were Smith, I'd look the recruiter in the eye and ask: "How many other guards are you visiting?" That question would be followed with: "It sounds like you are just checking a box by visiting me." The question and comment would be followed by showing the recruiter the door and ending the conversation by saying: "I have universities recruiting me who will showcase my skills, see you at the NCAA Tournament."

Cal would say what any coach would say: we want you because we think you're good enough to play for us. Are you good enough to be a starter? Show us. We believe it, but you -- like all of our players -- will have to show us.

And then Cal can pull out the poster and say, "But even if you don't start -- that's okay. Even our backups become millionaires."

I agree with this. Disappointing but I'm looking for long turn return with underwood. If the rest of the class stays together I think underwood has a chance to prove himself in short order.

I mostly agree. It really sucks, but overall I'm feeling pretty positive about the trajectory of the program right now. Also I can't blame Tilmon for wanting to explore his options with us having a coaching change. He has to do what's best for him. Just like all of us posters do on any given day for ourselves.

Yeah, I'm here. I had removed the cup and everything, but I'm actually numb to this. After all of the drama surrounding him, I'm just over it.

Let's watch him go lose for Martin while we trend up. Win games - secure recruits. It'll happen soon.

Just re-watched Kir highlight tape and he is definitely a burger boy. Should move us into the upper half of B1G.
