I saw Keion Brooks in person at the Indiana HS State Final game in Indianapolis. Word is that Painter is all over him already, plus he likes MSU a lot.
He did not do much in the championship game as his team did a terrible job getting him the ball, the guards just took over every shot which was sad but the Ben Davis coach did a great job taking him and 2017 kid going to Depaul out of the game.
Fort Wayne had Brooks and the Depaul kid both 6'9" and did not take advantage. Ben Davis had no one taller than 6'6" but just out game planned them and out toughed them.
It was a fun game to see in person, and to be honest Brooks is going to be a beast once he makes it to college.

The fact that the current staff is even identifying and "offering" these types of kids is amazing in its self...the old staff wouldn't/proved it couldn't identify talent outside of Walker and/or land said talent for the most part.
I am reveling in the fact that this staff is looking for their types of players and are actively looking elsewhere and not just in state anymore...that pressure to recruit in state is part of the issues from the last 10 years...lack of getting the elite.
Find your players (in or out of area), win, the elite will come...
I thought Groce's only real strength was identifying talent...

In the 1:27 Rivals clip, Brazdeikis doesn't display the shock and awe dunks like some of the other players, but evidently can still get the shots to go down with lots of points scored and appears to be a good rebounder, getting position well. If the Rivals info is accurate, 6'7" and only 180 lbs would indicate some bulking up needed, as well.

Groce was always pretty good at identifying talent and offering early. He just had trouble landing those players once they blew up.
I can not think of one player that Groce was in on first, that no one else knew about the blew up
