FRESHMAN-NEWCOMERS
2. McNally, Ohio State
8. Fasano, Northwestern

#2
Harrison downs Vukic

in straight sets today in North Carolina.

#3
Also, Vukic destroyed Torpegaard 6-1, 6-3 back in April.

#5
But then the incoming tOSU freshman, John McNally, destroyed Vukic in July.

Vukic was sicker than a dog that week. McNally is very good but he isn't in Vukic's league. I don't think they'll face each other in conference play, though. Vukic will play #1 and McNally will play #2 for tOSU.

That makes sense. That seemed like an odd result to me.

Any one get news on Mac Kiger?

I have not seen my Illini tennis connected people late summer/early fall to ask them yet.

I have not seen my Illini tennis connected people late summer/early fall to ask them yet.

This is what Scott Richey said during a recent News-Gazette chat:

"As for the other two athletes, I don't know what happened with them. Neither has an active social media account I could find for clues as to their whereabouts, so I reached out to Illinois. The reponse was what I expected. Mac Kiger is 'no longer a member of the men's tennis program'"

I have not been able to find out anything about Kiger by doing online searches. I haven't seen him appear on another team's roster or playing in any recent tournaments.

ITA's in Tulsa concluding this weekend.

Hiltzik lost first round to 7 seed from Wake. He was only Illini in main draw. Clark lost first round of qualifying while both Kovacevic and Khlif won 2 matches but lost the match to qualify for Main draw.

Khlif had to come through prequalifying where he won four matches in order to get into the qualifying round:
