Really important to show for THT tomorrow. He knows there was a good showing for Ayo. Any students on here, grab some friends and get over there at 11am. Please....ThT is a really solid piece of the puzzle.

Big get for NCState if you consider 247's #115 ranked player a "get". Kevin Keatts has not set the recruiting world on fire with his first 2 classes.

It’s a moot point because this isn’t an Illinois recruiting comment, but I think you’re being a little harsh. He, too, hasn’t coached a single game yet, but got a coveted PG in Beverly using his Hargrave connections, a top 100 PG, and three 4 stars this year. That’s a good start, if you ask me.

Ramey was a Louisville commit, but opened his recruitment back up basically the day that charges were brought against the assistant coach.

Guys, I will be shocked if Ramey does not end up at Mizzou. He committed to UL before Counzo was hired. While Cuonzo has a great class to sell Ramey on, I can tell you his hs coach is a die hard Mizzou fan who as far as I know still is a Mizzou season ticket holder. I can guarantee he is doing his best to sway his player to Cuonzo.

Side story...this summer I was at a near empty StL metro east restaurant in the middle of the afternoon on a weekday. I was wearing an Illini hat and shirt and made eye contact with Cuonzo. He was sitting in a corner booth with a local recruit (during the dead period!). When he saw me eyeing the situation he seemed to get very fidgety and nervous and finally got up and left the restaurant. Moral of the story...the guy is a slime bag who is a borderline rule follower. Believe me... there is a solid reason Tilmon did an about face and switched to Mi$$ouri.

Seriously though! I am a student here and I will be in attendance!

I don't know why. Archie is going to take them places, and it's better for the program and the kids if he doesn't do it the same way Bobby did.

I agree, the Bobby Knight attitude may have worked 30 years ago, but is totally out of touch with today's reality. Archie is a great hire for them and a strong recruiter.

Martin caught lightning in a bottle with the Porters. But they're short timers (1 season and 2-3 seasons). A guy like Ramey could sustain them from being a flash in the pan. Which is why I desperately want him elsewhere, anywhere (ok, maybe not IU, but I digress).

Cuonzo has always been a strong recruiter, including getting top talent at California. The fact that he is doing well recruiting at Mizzou, at a program close to his roots is no surprise IMO, independent of Porter. He will recruit more than his fair share, so we have to counter with our own recruiting. There will be multiple battles going forward, very likely that we go head to head for EJ Liddell, as well as other recruits in the near future.

Man, this thread is pretty dead tonight considering THT is here. Any reason? Ayo hangover?

Being as this is our recruiting thread, all this Loosiers and Mizznoz talk is about to make me barf. We got one of best recruits from Chicago yesterday and we have another on campus this weekend. Our basketball team has been down for a few years but not out of the picture. Our new team and recruits we have and will gain, are what we have to build with.

Although we are not considered a Blueblood, we have a long storied history, with many great teams and players. Ranked in top 20 schools in basketball of all time is not bad at all. The only way we move to the elites, is great team play, by players and staff. Our day is coming soon as we are building in the short time BU has been around.

Coaches of other teams may have players and plans, but I think we are about to see our new group of players, with new style and attitude, take us back to B1G leaders, and NCAA basketball elites. Let's get THT, and other recruits here, keep bringing more in, see where we stack up in 10 years from now.:thumb::illinois:

BOOM! Feed my ego.
Am I the only one who thinks Jordan Goodwin isn't that good.

I'll own it if wrong.

I was very disappointed he didn’t sign with Illinois. I think he’s going to be a very good college player. He’s the type of tough, do-it-all player I really love.

I wonder what would have happened if you snapped a few cell phone pictures of that lunch?

Years ago I saw a coach and assistant coach visit a player during a dead period in front of about 25 other players from various schools and the coach didn’t care who saw.

I am glad this board is back to normal again, I was afraid we were facing a little competition from the Wake board, but we are steadily ahead.

That move still has me perplexed. Tilmon had to know he would not be THE MAN at Mi$$ouri, the Porter boys would instead of him. He would have been THE MAN at Illinois. Assuming the Porters are one and done, I was under the impression Tilmon had the same idea. So where will Mi$$ouri be in 2018? Their seniors will graduate, maybe, and the top 3 young 'uns will be gone too. Then what does Cuonzo do with Porter Sr. as an assistant coach? One and done as well? Well, we'll see at the Braggin' Rights game.

As long as we have Finke and Black going I agree with you, but if either of them get injured or in foul trouble, we are dangerously thin. The reason I was asking about the guards rebounding is that it helps with how Underwood described his style. I'd be perfectly happy running a lineup that tries to imitate what Golden State does with big wings at 2-4 and Leron or Finke running the 5 if we get all 5 players on the floor able to grab 3-5 boards a game.

we have 3 guys who will get mins at the 5, Finke, Black and Spicy-G

I do think we need to add more size, but not sure it needs to be a post only guy. Thats why I think you will see us look at more Euro Bigs if we cant go get someone like BPJ

Ramey is pretty much the missing piece for Mizzou at this point.

I know this doesn't exactly apply to Illinois anymore, but I'll share just because I've seen a few people talking about Mizzou/Courtney Ramey.

My #source is very tied into Missouri recruiting and he recently talked with Ramey's HS head coach. At this point in time, that coach doesn't envision him picking the Tigers. I was surprised to hear that because, as mentioned, it seemed like he'd be a great/logical fit. But it sounds like Ramey is just seeking a bigger stage at the next level.

Everyone: THT is on his official visit. The guy is a stud. Show him love!

No need to discuss Mizzou, Indiana, etc. If in Champaign, be there for his workout at 11 am CST.

It's a shame you weren't able to ask for his autograph and a selfie with him. All you would have had to say it that you wish he could have been coach at Illinois. If you could have kept a straight face.
