Oh my Lord, some of you Nancies are so negative. This is a brand new team playing their first road game. We came out well-prepared and full of energy, taking the game to them. We are getting screwed by the refs and have been out shot from the line by 14. Yet, we're only down 1 at the half. PLEASE stop comparing this to "Groce-ball". This is SO much better than anything we've seen in the last 8+ years.

I don't mind Alstork the player but his shooting form and rotation on his shot is pretty bad and incredibly flat. I'm shocked he use to average as many points a game as he did.

Okay, I've tried not to go there, but the fouls are really getting tricky tacky and one sided.

In general, you could call a foul on every possession. Refs obviously know that can't happen.

But when you choose to call touch fouls only one way, one has to wonder what is going on. The folks they are calling on us could easily be called on them as well. It was at least 8-1 at one point, and they were in the double bonus while we never in the bonus.

Consistency is what any coach wants. That is not happening tonight

There are like 3 times were Alstork got completely hacked and no calls. It's so frustrating to watch and sometimes makes you put into question the integrity of the game.

The wake defender is laying on our point guard when he brings the ball up everytime, no call yet. Don’t expect it either

We need to get this into an up and down game. If so we win.

Gotta pull them out of the zone either by gashing it or knocking down threes.

Regardless of refs...if we hit 1 of the 4 wide open bricked 3's or made 1 of the 3 layups we missed we would be winning..

The quality of basketball officiating is ruining the game. Pretty much every ticky tack foul has gone against us, every 50/50 call has gone against us. We are truly playing 6 v 5 out there.

Totally agree. I guess the problem is we’re just letting Wake sit in that zone, so maybe if we’re more aggressive they’ll begin to get some whistles too.

Easy EB gonna be getting tick all year if we keep fouling like this.

+1

And I was a Groce defender for way too long. We played three freshman heavily in the last ten minutes of the first half. Why are we surprised there were turnovers, dumb shots, and dumb fouls.

We will win this game. And developing players. So... Pretty much opposite of Groce ball.

They've made 9 shots. Fouls will even out.

You guys complaining about fouls and the refs calling it unevenly but look at how much more aggressively we play on defense. Illinois gets way more aggressive on D, way more reaching and body contact but mostly the reaching. We are always challenging and trying to slap at the ball which is going to lead to more fouls.

Wake is just sitting back and letting Illinois come to them vs Illinois playing attacking defense. Always going to lead to a foul discrepancy.
