Thanks, it's nice to read expert opinions on our recruits. It seems like the staff might've found a real under appreciated gem here.:thumb:

Just reading about another former NBA player who coached his son Into becoming B/R’s national player of the year in Jalen Brunson. There’s alot to be said about growing up in a basketball family and I hope for nothing but the best for both Griffin brothers. I think we’ll all be pleasantly surprised.

Once again it doesn't matter what rank or honor he had in high school he needed a lot of development and time to contribute at the college level. He was a respectable #152 recruit on 247sports. But he averaged 1 and 2 points his first two seasons. He averaged 10 points as a senior, much improved from his first 2 years. He also had to overcome confidence issues. Brian Butch a McAA redshirted at Wiscy and also was a project at the college level.

I would’ve loved to seen what our current staff could’ve done with Mav. I think his development may have come along a lot quicker.

And I can’t even count how many dishes Mav dropped under the basket those first two years. Bounce passes would hit him right in the hands and he’d still fumble them all on his own.

See the bylaws, rule 15. Athletic Scholarships are year to year, and do not need to be renewed. Think of a walkon that gets one for his junior year because the team didn't use them all, he would likely not expect to retain it for his senior year.

The Big10 went to "guaranteed four year scholarships" for all student athletes in 2014. I believe this removed the "renewal" clause. If it did not, can you please provide a link to the current big ten bylaws? I failed to find one.

Wow. Dribbling, shooting, passing, defense like that too?

haha my exact thoughts. I saw him dribble maybe twice in the whole video and didnt see him shoot at all. Does anyone have a video where he is doing basketball things other than catching oops/dunking the ball off cherry picking?

Not sure how that would work out considering Glover's team (Oak Ridge) defeated Wellington (Trent's high school team) in the 9A final.

And this would deter Trent? Nawwwwwww

That kid's got a level of athleticism that would even make Larry Bird jealous. Dr. Dunkenstein 2.0. :clappy:

No evidence of a jump shot. Incomplete game. Write him off.

Nice! The thing is - these dunks are happening in games at the high school level. Would be nice to see if he can play D and dribble. Joe Bertrand comes to mind until more vids show more.

He reminds me of Luther Head as a freshman or sophomore. I think he quit doing this after he hurt his knee.

All I want are shooters and athletes... You don't have to be both, but you have to be one.
