Was underwhelmed with Caroline today. Seems to be an oversized Ravonte Rice. But he drew the assignment on Mo Bamba and that likely reduced his offense. Don't see as an upgrade from Black. Not sure his stats would translate to BIG (Alstork).
Physical..can take to the hole... better than anyone we are likely to get inside..agree not better than black.. Alstork not in same universe.
Who ever wouldn't want him doesn't know what they're talking about.
Anybody know Ayo stats from, today?
To show he can produce day in, day out a the highest level of college hoops, why else?
We have an "awesome" and an "underwhelmed".... truth is probably in between.

Caroline is as tough as nails. He guarded a much bigger player and didn’t give an inch. He’s made to play for Underwood.
Ayo wasn't sharp on offense today as he missed several layups.Had some nice assists though.To his credit he didn't force things to get his points and shares the ball which is more than I can say for a few of his teammates.I was surprised at how little he actually played the point and how little he touched the ball.

+1 Leron had a very good season for us this year. But Caroline is a better rebounder, better passer & with much better handles. He won't get off the impossible shots over larger defenders the way Black can though, but who else can.

Who said that we'd need him to be an upgrade from Black?
We just need him to as closely replicate Black's production as possible. And of all other options out there on the recruiting trail, he would undoubtedly get us the closest.
Make no mistake.....Jordan Caroline would be a bigger impact next year than Ayo. He might not replicate his Nevada numbers, but we wouldn't need him to do so. We just need somebody to give us ~10 points and ~6 rebounds a game from that position, and I think he'd be perfectly suited to do at least that.
The Alstork comparison isn't fair for a number of reasons. One, Nevada isn't Wright State. Caroline has played against legit competition, and has excelled against it.

Alstork had no such track record.
If anything, the Ray Rice example is probably more appropriate. He made the transition from the MVC, and did quite well here. No reason to think Caroline wouldn't.
But all of this is probably moot, because there is absolutely no reason to think that he's transferring.
