Illinois class up to:
- #12 on Rivals (#4 in B1G)
- #26 on 247Composite (#7 in B1G)
- #19 on 247 Non-composite (#4 in B1G)

Is this a function of us having such a large class or because Ayo and Tev are relatively highly ranked compared to the other B1G classes? Not 100% sure how these rankings work

We should be thrilled to take both. Our cupboard is bare at big. We have room for major playing time on our roster for both. Now, that may complicate things for other guys on our roster.

So with Golden and Okoro that would be an 8 signee class. I think Pitt is also at 8. Any other classes that large? Certainly never at Illinois.

Maybe I'm wrong but it doesn't look like Griffin's 247 composite score has been updated to correspond with his ranking bump on Rivals.

The answer to your question is "yes."

Haha :thumb: I think it is important to note that (barring Langford committing to Indiana) Ayo is the second highest rated incoming freshman in the B1G. Really excited to watch him play next year, especially alongside TF.

If Golden commits, and we're planning on keeping room for Okoro in '18, we need to Crean Matic right then, it would be an awful, cruel thing to do to leave him hanging around until mid-May without knowing if he has a scholarship here stuck halfway around the world from his home without his family.

But we also got the top rated jc point guard and Griffin moved into the top 150 on another site.

I think his point was that it was a function of both (having a large class as well as Ayo and Tev being highly ranked)

There are only two other schools in the top 15 with as many commits or more than us, one of which is UCLA who sit much higher than us. Arkansas (I think they are just outside the top 15 have 7 commits and are just a bunch of 3 stars pretty much)

So it’s a mixture of both with us. We have 3 high regarded commits, 1 so so and 2 non highly regarded. As far as rankings go.

You're right - Griffin's Composite Score will go up.

And let's remember that all of these are just numbers that a bunch of people behind computers create. It doesn't mean that Griffin is now a better player or prospect than he was a couple weeks ago now that his ranking is higher. ;)

Pretty good 8 man class there. :)

Does anyone know if Blake Hinson is still planning to visit?

He came in at #101 on the latest Rival rankings (four star).

Seems so difficult for some posters to understand...
