I guess 6’8 is tall. I’ll take it - the process continues!

Anthony Higgs, is he any good? Welcome aboard in either case. :)

From watching the video on his 247 page, he's a good athlete with a college-ready body. That alone is a lifesaver as he's a guy that will be able to soak up some minutes right away.

Definitely perimeter oriented, the stroke's not so bad you'd notice and he seems to like to shoot. If he had rim protection ability we'd see it in the video, so that's a concern.

Definitely more of a 4 than a 5, kind of a bigger, less refined Kipper at the same age. This is not just some bum we're going to Crean in 8 months, and the offer list bears that out. He offers us much more than a Braun or Zdor.

The story says that he needs to finish up a summer school class, that will be something to monitor along with Kane. When a kid has those questions they aren't here until they're here, but if he's committing it's at least doable. But in the hopeful scenario you'd now split the 5 between Kane and Giorgi, and split the 4 between Kipper and Higgs. That's still pretty bad, but it's better than it was yesterday, and keeps the likes of Tevian and AJ competing for minutes where they belong and pushing the other guys.

You would still definitely take a 5th year side of beef if you can find one. But this is good news! A nice late find by a staff that really needed one.

Higgs is a hell of a get this late in the process. From everything i have seen and read he plays his butt off and is really athletic. Maybe it's just because he's a lefty but that stroke looks really nice as well. If this dude was 4 inches taller he would basically be Marvin Bagley.

Interesting:

Feliz 2x State Champion
Higgs 2x State Champion
Dosunmu 2x State Champion
Griffin 1x State Champion

Great News!

Actually, you know who Higgs reminds me just a bit of? Blake Hinson. Not as refined, but definitely has a similar body type and perimeter orientation.

Ironically, Hinson was the guy Ole Miss landed to replace Higgs.

Say what you will about our shortcomings at the 5, but this team is getting ready to be really, really fun to watch. The jury is obviously still out on the reBUild (see what I did...), but the athleticism has increased dramatically. :illinois:

Higgs clearly fits into what we're trying to do offensively. If he can grab some rebounds for us, he'll help plug a big hole in our roster.

I don't know. Higgs definitely seems like he likes to dunk per this video: https://www.hudl.com/video/3/5000019/587c78afb018fc28e453c6a9

I agree on the rim protection. No idea how he'll do defensively since basically no vids show anything on that end.

Wow! Good news? I hardly know how to react.

I'll go back to my Mom's lessons first of all and welcome the new guy to the neighborhood.
Welcome aboard, Mr. Higgs. Oh yes !
