Below is the movement for UI's targets in the updated 2019 Rivals rankings. Some one off updates make the before/after not quite exact, but close enough. Whitney a 5 star and top 25; Shannon comes in as top 75.pic.twitter.com/UMeb9BlTkr

Interesting that most of our targets have improved in their rankings. Does that mean we jumped on the bandwagon, or that our staff has a decent eye for talent and offers guys that are underrated?

Why have we offered Jason Jitoboh? 2 star that appears to be typical post type player. Kai Jones seems to fit the style but also is only a 2 star. Our third offer is to Cockburn and by the conversation here the chance is somewhere between no chance and not a chance. It looks like we will be late in the game next year for a big or we are satisfied with the PF candidates.

Keep the faith man and let Antigua work his magic.

You see his offer list? Not a regular 2 Star list

Only 3 on that whole list moved down. Every other one either moved up or stayed the same. Clearly our staff can evaluate talent.

Kai Jones is an NBA talent. He has exploded this summer. Ignore the stars. Out of date.

Haven't seen enough of Kai Jones lately to say he is an NBA player. Cockburn at 6-11 with an NBA body though does. I think Illinois should be an easier sell in 2019 to bigs. Barring transfers or early pro aspirations the team should be pretty balanced and have depth. Playing time at center will available to Cockburn.

I'm confused. Nothing new there. Has BU offered Anthony Cole and Precious Achiuwa? I don't see their names on the grid and Illinois is not one of their school interests. Is there some reason why they are on the list? Am i too dense to see the reason? Just curious.

Nice job, though, creating the list.

Big day for '20 Andre Curbelo (@papicurbelo11) he led Puerto Rico to a win over China with 18 points, 12 assists and 7 rebounds, they move on to play Montenegro in the quarterfinals of the FIBA 17U World Cup. He also picked up an offer from Illinois!

This kid looks like a really smooth point guard with impressive passing/court vision and some speed. Apparently a good defender, too. Not very big/long though.

Excellent news. Whitney, Cockburn and anyone else would be a killer class and would put us in position to win big when added to the pieces we already have.

This.

The only question is how big? IMO, the ceiling is the very, very high.

'Course, a visit is a far cry from a commitment. Tough row to hoe. C'mon, BU & OA!

"[Illinois assistant Oliver] Antigua is a New York guy," Memminger said. "He recruited him really hard. He's a top priority for Illinois for bigs and Antigua did a helluva job recruiting him.

Is that Orlando's brother? Didn't realize he was recruiting for us.
