Hope to see Giorgi get at least 20 minutes in this game. We're gonna see a lot of Kipper in the pinch post until Adonis is back.

I want to see an emphasis on rebounding and inside touches. Build it one piece at a time.

I think BU is going to try Kipper at the 5 in most games this season. Make the opponent prove that they can exploit that size advantage. If they can’t then we can get another guard on the floor which suits our uptempo style.

At least, until Adonis is back. But even then there is no guarantee that Adonis will fit well into this team.

1st post from a longtime lurker. Evansville's tallest players are Deandre Williams (Fr.) and Dainius Chatkevicius (Sr.), who are both listed at 6'9". Curious to see the play of Noah Frederking, as he tore up S. Illinois when he was in high school. Comfortably beat New Mexico Highlands in an exhibition earlier today, but I personally don't know a ton about them.

I used to watch the Purple Aces on tape delay at 10:30 pm (I am so old, lol ) and they always had good teams , especially Jerry Sloan
(from my hometown of McLeansboro, IL (go Foxes ), Larry Humes and so many others that memory escapes me....Old B & W TV grainy picture with so much action and excitement....

Pruman, that is cool you are from McLeansboro. I'm from Carmi, and know a lot of people from there. Actually went to the Sloan-Lee-Reed basketball camp years ago. I have met and talked with Jerry a few times several years ago at his farm there when I was doing some grain bin work for him and my high school basketball coach was Brad Lee

It's gonna be weird not seeing Marty Simmons roaming the sidelines for Evansville. Walter McCarty is the head coach.

Noah Frederking is solid. 6'4" sophomore that is smooth, and finds multiple ways to score. I expect his scoring to be higher this year. Was coached by Jon Kraus over in Okawville, who is a very good coach.

Other players to watch out for that return: K.J. Riley (6.8 ppg), Dainius Chatkevicius (4.8 ppg), and Marty Hill (4.1). Those are last season's averages. Evansville is like Illinois in the aspect of many new faces on the roster.

Evansville used to have an unforgettable logo. It was a purple riverboat gambler. They got rid of it for something totally generic and their program swandived soon after (15+ years now).

I think the upcoming matchup between Giorgi and Dainius will be interesting. Both have similar styles of play. Giorgi has to stay out of foul trouble.

Huge. I still don't expect him to play in games for awhile, but things are on the right track!

I mean, why not? Sure, probably not Thursday, but this is the equivalent of them saying he's medically 100% for a game. I could easily see him getting a few minutes in Maui with this news.

Now, if we want to talk about significant 10mins+, sure it's gonna take him time to get fully up to speed.

Brad Underwood says grad transfer big man Adonis De La Rosa is “day-to-day” and has been cleared for contact practice

Going to be really interesting to see how they work him in. How well does he run the floor as a big dude coming off a serious injury? Does he fit in with our high pressure/transition style?

Regardless, it will be good to have another big body to work with.

I just think they will be cautious with him early on to make sure they don't rush him back and he has a setback. But I agree, he'll probably get some minutes here and there if the doctors have cleared him for games. I should have said that I don't expect him to get significant minutes for awhile.

Well, he's been running miles for a while, it seems. So hopefully his conditioning is fairly good.
