However, to act like we haven’t taken strides forward as a program is absurd and, frankly, emotionally driven thinking void of logic in the wake of a tough loss.

I'm not saying we can't take strides, or that I'm not optimistic we will take strides. We have more in Giorgi and Feliz than I thought. And Ayo is a star. There are some raw materials here. And you can see they're playing with more of a clue and not just last year's headless chicken effort.

But wins are strides. Losses in winnable games where we make every mistake necessary to find ourselves on the wrong end are not strides, and that, tonight, remains where this basketball program is.

At the end of the game, coming out of the timeout, I feel like the play design + subsequent decision by Feliz to go straight into the heart of the Georgetown trees was rather unintelligent. Feliz, driving to his left/off-hand, should really be looking to kick the ball out in a situation like that. Williams was wide open in the corner for what could have been a huge 3.

If you're going to draw that play up at that critical juncture of the game, for a guard to penetrate into the paint, it should be for Ayo, a bigger player and craftier finisher.

I get why people will want to pile on to KN bc those plays were pretty memorable, but Feliz airballed 2 wide open threes (yes he had some huge plays later) and AJ going for 1 point is a problem.
my wife could have at least hit the rim on at least one

I love Aaron Jordan but he gave us nothing tonight. I rather seen Griffin and Tevian get those minutes. Better yet Damonte Williams should starting over Jordan it’s clear as day.

Otherwise, it is a pretty irrational attack on him. Things are goona be really good by the end of this year. Yall should smoke em if you got em, and relax mon. #IMWITHKATHY

Tevian needs to get a bulk of Kipper’s minutes in the non conference. To have a player like Kipper that only shows up once every few games is cancerous to a team with this much young talent and effort. He didn’t lose the game by himself, but for him to perform in the final 7 minutes like he did, with his talent and the amount of minutes he has played for us, just shows a lack of mental focus and toughness. I never want to question any of these athletes’ passion and effort, but he has WAY too much ability to continuously have performances like this. If I am BU I give him Maui and then show him the pine if it doesn’t change. Unfortunate

GMAB. Do yourself a favor and rewatch the game and only focus on Tev Jones. The kid had no idea what he was doing out there most of the time.

The only way to explain his ranking with those highlight tapes was that he can't guard anybody and....WELP

It just sucks because we would all be jacked to beat a quality opponent without our best player.

This team can sneak into the tournament with Trent. Ayo/Feliz/Giorgi/DaMonte will be solid all year. The other 3 freshman are wildcards. De La Rosa will be big once he is full strength or anywhere close.

The 2 Groce holdovers, Jordan and Kipper have to be better. Just have to be better or not play. Period.

disappointing but also exciting, this game was actually fun to watch. Couple things now that my blood pressure has gone down, how is a concussion even happening during a walk through? Giorgi is a steal and is a beast, Ayo is great. I’m still disappointed we allowed that much penetration and no changes were made to the defense.

Would like to see more Jones. He has some learning to do but, think he has some ability. I thought our best lineup tonight was Ayo, Feliz, Damonte, T Jones, and Giorgi.

Agreed Tevian is behind the learning curve right now...expected borderline Top 100-125 player. College ball is a huge swing. That said, Kipper can't have the 4-4 minute stretch that he had either.

Truth is with Trent our game would have been much different and so would the keys we are all typing and the words they are spelling right now!

In a game like this there is a very small margin of error. The difference between losing and winning was basically 2 plays. So to say we made strides or didn't make strides based off 2 plays is kind of silly. The potential is there. That's all we know right now. It will take many more games before we can discuss making strides.

The entire team also needs to box out much better. Even with Giorgi being better than expected, we need more frontcourt depth.

Yeah, let's bench a player that can explode for 30 in a big game...after a rough end to his second game as a junior.

Excellent rationale.
Maybe he gets 30 points, but it is laissez-faire attitude that BU is trying to purge. I would rather take 12 points a game from someone busting their butt every game and making smart plays than someone that might get you 30 one night and 5 the next.

Anyone notice how Patrick Ewing is fat af now

Yeah, fam.

My man's face is just about unrecognizable.

It's like some minuscule species of alien whose home planet resembles cake batter has colonized his face and are slowly but methodically absorbing/assimilating what was once there into their cake batter-ish collective.

I don't know if I would put Georgetown in the "quality opponent" category.

They're better than Evansville, but will still finish in the bottom half of the Big East. I'm sure that's how they view us.

It was a good step up in competition from the opener. Gonzaga is going to be a MASSIVE step up and qualifies as a "quality opponent". Let's see how it plays out.

There were a lot of good things out there tonight. Just didn't have the guy to take the game over down the stretch.
