Northwestern 24, Illinois 16 POSTGAME

Just pretend you didn't watch the game: Illinois only lost by 8 pts to the number 19 ranked team to finish the season

Great result for Lovie. If it wasnt for that INT at the end we coulda tied that game up! Happy with how hard those boys worked against such a highly touted team.

Too bad there was no one at the game. I think each of the state championships on Saturday had more people in attendance than this game. Perhaps some extra Illinois Loyalty in Ryan field could have helped change the outcome...

Looking forward to what next season brings.

Crazy to think how far the offense has come since last year. Great progress. Spring and summer camps will help development/ progression. having more than one scholarship qb in spring should help the wr timing/experience. Having success in some areas will hopefully carry over to other areas.
Think everyone is hoping for similar improvement on defense.

Beyond the highly visible drops, the receivers had a good game collectively - probably their best of the year.

I think Rod Smith did a fantastic job with his scheme. Sadly he could not hide the actual state of this young offensive line when we got within the 10 yard line. When they mature, I look for an even bigger jump

Just think what he could have done with a healthy Dudek, Meadors, and Epstein this year. The mind boggles.
