He's just not a very good coach. The idea of scoring in the first 7 seconds is a good idea in theory but you cant have your shooters chucking up terrible shots just because its in the first 7 seconds.

Unfortunately, we are even worse in the last 7 seconds. Our shots trying to beat the shot clock almost never go in. Or even hit the rim.

I think Trent's ankle may have something to do with it. Down 8 with 3-something to go. A W is still possible.

In all seriousness, what the hell has happened to Kipper Nichols?

We literally do this every game we play except for the ones we're clearly outmatched. We're either tied, leading, or barely losing at halftime and then we just basically fold for a large majority of the second half, have a fake "comeback" and then lose in the end. Why is that? Like seriously why can we never play in the second half? It's infuriating.

Bad stretch and some home cooking. Need these free throws from Giorgi, unless they’re not in the bonus because they don’t get called for fouls, then we need this bucket and it’s a 6 point game. Plenty of time.

I’m cowboys, bulls, cardinals, Illini. It’s not good.....what sucks the most is that all those teams had a dominant culture at one point in time and that culture is gone from them all.

I think the refs are calling a pretty good game. Illinois hacks a lot and they have seemed hesitent to goal to the paint the whole night. ND has committed to that in the second half and its shown.
Disagree by quite a bit. Giorgi arm contact by Durham, no call. Next play - Durham gets an and-1 on very little if any contact by AJ. And the charge on AJ was just crap - he slid by. Just to name a few

Why is Nichols out there? Besides an occasional rebound he is bringing nothing. Playing way too tenative and predictable

We play an unusual, unusually intense defensive style, but we play it poorly so once our opponents get into the flow of the game and have the chance to react and adjust at halftime, it's bombs away

The only positive to the present situation is that virtually all expectations of success are long gone. Watching has become much more stress free in a weird way. I still care but they are so bad it isn’t worth getting mad.

I don't think anything has "happened" to Kipper per se. Even last year he was super inconsistent and frustrating. He has had moments and shown flashes but he has NEVER been a complete player that has put it all together. However, he has been so bad lately that he doesn't even deserve to sniff the floor. I realize we're young and that comes with growing pains, but this product has been inexcusable for Underwood. Something needs to get better.

Only 4! Swing to the left, swing to the right, stand up, sit down - fight, fight, fight! Cornball, but fun.
