It’s going to be another terrible year. If you can’t defend without fouling you going to lose games period

Underwood lost the class that Groce had in place, then the transfers, then he lost his own recruits after one season and hasn't replaced them with enough size, speed or ability since.

Losing Tilmon, JCL, Greg E, Finke, Smith, Black...that's a lot of shooting, it's a lot of size and it's a lot of athleticism that went out the door in less than 2 years.
He doesn't play his size that he has on the team. He talked about the length and size he recruited but only plays guards. We're consistently undersized on the floor. He could play Ayo at the point, Griffin at the shooting guard, Tevian at small forward, Giorgi at power forward, and Samba at the Center position. You could even put Kipper in st small forward or power forward. DaMonte at shooting guard also and Trent at point and Feliz... and switch in the other 7 footer at center. Pray the size we got and at least we could rebound and contest on the defensive end.

Agree - too much dribbling, handoff at pinch post does not work, and for crying out loud we don't need to pick up players at half court unless we plan on trapping - it just exposes us and when I saw Giorgi rushing out to the half court line with (i think it was) 4 fouls already I cringed. Oh yeah, AND STOP FOULING - we can't put teams at the line 30 times - it was the difference in the game yesterday both in points from the line and time on the bench for key players.
That bogus defense is why we're get so many fouls.... you got the players ot of position defensively... playing ball denial instead of basket denial. You got guards fronting the taller players, which leads to a lob pass over the top and then fouling or going over the back. If you watch the games guys are guarding spaces on the floor where no players are even at. Also the back end player that is playing defense is positioned at the free throw line leaving a backdoor lob wide open. Michigan State killed us on that last year. And no freaking way should his son TU be playing minutes over our scholarship recruits. That's ridiculous. I can't believe that he just gives away games when we have the talent to perform better. Play Tevian whose clearly the best athlete on the team and Samba! Ridiculous!

We would be way way better if we had JCL, Black, Finke, Ebo and Lucas. I'd bet most would like to see Williams on this team over what we have.
Not sure I get all the Ebo hype. I personally liked Ebo, Not great hands, but had a great shot from 1mm - outside of that he struggled. JCL was basically a skinnier Mark Smith - spot up shooter that can not easily create his own shot.

I think Kane (small sample size I know) could be more effective than Ebo in a month or two (if only we could get a lead in a game where we could insert him).

Slight sarcasm believed to be involved here previous to reply?
