After watching Prohm come on the court, not once, but twice and start barking at Iowa coaches and players it is now clear why his kids play as hard as they do. Guy can coach and you can see the passion for his players and team.

The other thing I realized...Hawkeyes are pretty freaking good.

yeah. And that was Wiesekamp coming back after a high ankle sprain and Pemsl unexpectedly burning a redshirt from what was supposed to be a season-ending injury

I did not like what he did and thought it was inappropriate. The game was over, trying to poke the ball away at the end by ISU was the wrong thing to do. Even after it happened, the role of the coaches is to separate and remove the players and move on, making sure there are no suspensions and it does not escalate. Not bark at opposing players and coaches. If the coach can't keep his cool, why should we expect the players will?

To his credit, Prohm took full responsibility and apologized to Iowa coaches and players for his actions. He is a very good coach IMO, just a bad moment, but he did realize it and did the right thing after the game.

Thanks for clarifying. I don’t agree with his actions and you are spot on. My post was more about the level of emotion he shows towards his players and his team. Other than trying to get a technical with 90 seconds left in the game the other night, I feel like at times BU’s only emotion during games is negative towards his own players. I don’t pretend to know what goes on behind the scenes and what kind of relationship BU has with the players. As I watch closer and closer during games, their body language tells me at times they look scared to make a mistake as they know they will be taken out or laid into at the next timeout. Cyclones looked like they played care free and would run through a wall for their coach. Just an observation from a small sample size.

Oh, I agree, no doubt. Independent of the incident last evening, Prohm is a players' coach and seems like a great motivator. As I said, I think he is a very good overall coach.

It surely is. A few years ago folks were unanimous that Iowa was and always would be an awful team. They were almost all freshmen at the time. The only thing that changed is they got older. Lousy freshmen are now nationally ranked upperclassmen. If our frosh stick around, I expect the same from them.

I wish I felt as good about Giorgi and Kane as they did about Cook and Garza.
