Whats to watch? ILLINI win by 13,

Conference after will be 2 kids who played fairly well, operating offense, we shared the ball and we focused on the gameplan.

Coach Conference, I was happy with our intensity, we had a good week of practice, we changed some things up, got Tevian involved, Trent was outstanding and is the leader, Ayo made progress tonight, and Giorgi played good as well....overall happy with the performance (against inferior team once again)...now back to reality with rest of schedule!

And despite this, most of will watch the game on some crappy BTN feed, and then wait anxiously for Dan to post the highlights and presser to see what other bits of knowledge we can derived about the beloved to enable us to project a return to glory in the (not too distant?) future . . .

If we don't start seeing more minutes for the younger guys and soon, I don't know if I can keep spending time watching... It's a low bar for continuing to tune in, but I just want to see the young guys get a chance to develop and gain experience at this point. Thank goodness for the Bears this year as a state of Illinois sports fan.

By now the players are aware of the fan base and press negativity. Surely some of them accept personal responsibility for some of the problems. But they are not clueless to opinions of Underwood’s failings.

So my question to all of you is how does Underwood go forward with the team? Tell them to ignore the outside influences or something else?

I think this will be number 7, so we should have him back for all but 1 of the remaining conference games. Hopefully he will surprise our opponents.

I think it is good that we played a strong schedule, rather than 75% cupcakes, it gives us good insight into who we are and what kind of team we will become :)

I really thought we would be a decent team this year. I am so frustrated. I don't think we'll get good recruits if we don't win.

Super frustrated, too, Kathy. :( I can't quite get myself to believe we could only win one or two more games because that sounds so ridiculous ... but something needs to change for us to win much more than that. Additionally, that is a terrifying look into where we are as a program right now. I see good players on this team, and I see flashes of us looking good, and I am perplexed why we're so awful. Brad should feel the heat right now, frankly.

The biggest issue I think is that Brad Underwood has loss the confidence of the locker room. They are playing hero ball and not as a team. ... they can go on huge runs but maintain the effort. The players see the wrong guys on the floor, and they do not know the long term plan.

For an Illini fans Christmas present, I hope for BU to put the best players on the floor and let them play for fun and not jack up the first open 3. They are a fast athletic team. When they get a break away layup, I want to see Ayo or Trent dunk hard (maybe even get a tech), no more weak layups. We need playground emotions to give these kids some confidence and to attract the recruits we need.

14. Illinois Fighting Illini (4-8)
Illinois remains the only Big Ten team with a losing record. Double-digit losses to Missouri, Ohio State and Nebraska since our last Power Rankings affirm Illinois’ position as the bottom of the barrel in the conference.

I am optimistic about what Trent, Ayo, and Georgi might do over the next couple of seasons. I am not optimistic about BU's recruiting ability. But the best thing is it can't really get any worse than where we are now.

Our players are not thriving in this system. I know we don’t have the level of talent or experience, aside from Trent, that most BIG teams have, but we seem to have guys with abilities that have not being capitalized on; Alan and Samba have both shown flashes. So, a question: Are these guys so in their heads that they can’t just play? They just seem so “locked up.”
