I've been a believer in Underwood, but seems like there's too much arrogance in him to admit that he may be part of the problem. Losing Leron, Finke, Eboigbedin, Smith and Lucas have really hurt this team. Time to cut our losses and pay Hoiberg whatever is needed so he can start recruiting now.

Unfortunately....we are flawed. Trent is still one handed and needs to be 4 inches taller. Ayo isn't very athletic. Kipper only plays well 1 out of every 5 games. Georgi's fouling reputation preceeds him. Demonte isn't his dad. Jordan should be a 7th man who comes off the bench and hits 3 quick dagger 3s against the other teams 2nd unit, not being exposed against starters.

But losing this game is all on Underwood...even with those flaws, there is no reason FAU should even be within 15 points of Illinois.

Brutal...blow the whole damn thing up. Keep Georgi and Trent if he wants to stay (I wouldn't blame him if he didn't, who wants to go 4 years without playing a tourney game...hell, he may not play an NIT tournament game). Let Demonte transfer to Bradley where even though he will be in the shadow of his Dad, no one will expect him to be his dad.

I did expect Ayo to be better.

Boy this is bad. It kills you when Georgi can't stay on the floor. I think he had a total of 1 minute played in the 2nd half. I didn't see the 1st half. We can't hit wide open shots and when we are playing small can't get good short looks at the rim and finish. Damonte needs to learn how to make a shot. He wasn't this bad shooting in High School. He could knock down open shots. Trent didn't do anything. We couldn't buy a rebound. we had are hands on so many and didn't come out with them. I am at a loss of what to say. This looks a lot like Groce years when everyone stood around, nobody flashed in the middle and we passed it around outside and missed 3 pt shots. That is the story of tonight. That and couldn't stop fouling.

Back In Robinson!
I have a hard time finding 2 Big Ten wins. You simply cannot lose this game, period.

Honest question, how many B1G wins does this team get? 4-9 now, do they even get to 9 wins this season? If they finish with 8, what does it do for the rest of the BU era?

I mean, how many Big Ten teams do you think we could realistically beat? Because my answer 3 weeks ago is vastly different from now. I’m at a point where finishing dead last is on the table

Why won't the ball go home?

Wow, just wow. This is awful. Hopefully we dont have a mass exodus after this season. Gimme my plate of crow now. I'll be eating on it for a while. I really thought the team would bounce back. 38 attempts from behind the arc is just flat out unacceptable. That is on the coach. I really dont see how it gets better after today. C'mon team, prove me wrong!

Horrid. Unacceptable. There are no silver linings from this game (beyond that it's over). Ugh!

People are getting paid major $$ to figure this out. Not me.
The problem is that they aren’t succeeding at figuring it out and the money is still being paid. This was a thrash showing, I am a huge supporter but enough is enough. Illinois is the laughing stock of the big ten.

I can't believe how far down the program has gotten. What a pitiful performance today

By the way, Underwood should kidnap Erik Pastrana and send Jamall Walker home on the plane with FAU.

Honestly wonder what would happen if they let BU go and let Antigua finish season. I think we may have a better chance at getting a win or two.
That's where I'm at with this season. He's been a head coach before. Underwood has ran off all our former players, upset the CPL, and ran off our best player from the St Louis area. We aren't getting the top players from other areas of the country when we lose to Florida Atlantic at home. Time to cut our losses, because it ain't going to get much better next season.
