Not uncommon with private and parochial schools who, among other things, don't want to lose the second semester tuition.

FWIW. I played college football with many who attended private/parochial schools in addition to my wife’s cousin being the head football coach at the catholic high school here. I assure you collecting tuition payments from a lot of these kids is NOT the reason they don’t allow them to graduate early. Some have never paid a dime to attend these schools.

I am still amazed at the number of kids that are able to graduate early. It was barely heard of just 20 years ago when I graduated school.

Jimbo won a national title there five years ago!

I know. This is what sickens the FSU fans. Win a NC and leave the cupboard bare 5 years later. The FSU fans have said that it started with Winston and not appropriately punishing him with his antics. The recruiting has went down and this year fans are livid.

They'll be fine.

Winston's trouble became public in 2013 and 2014. Florida State's recruiting rankings peaked in 2014 (4th in the country), 2015 (3rd), and 2016 (3rd). Even had the 6th ranked recruiting class in 2017. Winston is an idiot, but he's not what ails Florida State. The recruiting classes failed to develop (players who already peaked? coaches who struggled with development?) and led to their downfall.

With Texas beating Georgia and Oklahoma this year, you will see a bigger push for Texas kids to stay home. Being able to play right away will be a selling point for Mookie.

According to 24/7 we are 5 hours and 6 minutes away from the commitment. Not sure how they have such an exact time, but it is what it is.

100% CB to UI currently.

That's just when the game starts.

Tre'Mon Morris-Brash and Arjei Henderson are also announcing at the game tonight and they are listed as committing at the same time:

Just from watching in past years, these announcements occur during commercial breaks so it could really happen at any time during the game.

I don’t have cable so I probably won’t be getting the same commercial breaks as everyone else. Hopefully they televise it just after a commercial break!

Two more Illinois crystal ball predictions for Cooper.

Cooper commitment would move Illinois up 5 spots in recruiting rankings. AVG rating would increase to .8673, equivalent to a 25-35th ranked class.

I heard this interview with Coach Sunkett (East Saint Louis) on the Jeremy Werner Show this morning and it was pretty positive:

That sit down conversation between Lovie and Sunkett that happened according to Title has really helped our chances with the ESL guys. Sunkett even alludes to the fact that he hopes Johnson and Powell come to Illinois. Macon (2021) would also be huge.

Both would be massive gets (in-state!) for Lovie and staff.
