We're going to need Samba's fouls too! I think we'll see more fr minutes, and more 3's mixed in.

Would definitely call this a "must win"

Pretty much a toss-up games according to the stats guys and that is with a home court advantage.
Sad days, but I'll be watching, hoping to see a breakout.

Not fully understanding all the optimism. Didn't Minnesota recently beat Wisconsin on the road?
Also lost to an OSU team I think is overrated by 20 pts. And to BC. And to MD by 15.

No we wont be favored, but no reason we cant win it. Should be on par with NW, perhaps Minny is slightly better.

The Cat predicts that IL will win this game. MN will be worn out by its January 12 game against Rutgers.

IL will lead 40 - 32 at halftime.

MN will make halftime adjustments, ILL will wear out and cool off, but ILL will still hang on to win 72 - 71.

I hate it when people give away the ending

I'm with you, I just feel we are starting to get our rotations figured out, more stretches for fr unless it gets in the way of a win.

Respectfully disagree. Come Wednesday, we’re off the schneid.
what makes you think that? Minnesota is probably better than Northwestern, Georgetown, Xavier, FAU... we haven’t closed out a single game all year. Not trying to be a negative nancy, but until they can prove that they can beat a power-5 team than i cant expect a win.

Here's an angle - we were 2 frosh and 1 soph starters when we played those teams and the expectation is that Ayo and Giorgi are much better over a month later as they get accustomed to the system and play. Oh, and we played NU at their home court and almost won (1 offensive rebound away from a W), and Georgetown was played without Trent. FAU is just an odd one-off IMO.

Plus we're playing Minnesota at home. I think the issue is going to be their inside game vs ours - so we'd better be able to contain and disrupt their guards. I think we always have a chance against Little Lord Fauntleroy's team. ;)

Basically, VAIllini35 summed up my thoughts pretty well. Not that I don’t see your reasons for skepticism, just feel differently about this one. I think Trent returns to form.
