Where's Ayo going? Pro? I don't see him listed as a first round pick anywhere for 2019

Unless for some unknown reason he just doesn't want to be in school anymore, I doubt it. There is an slim outside chance some team wants to develop him and makes him a late 1st rounder this year.

I maintain that barring injury, he would track like Deron and be a top 10 pick after three years in the B1G. With added size and an improved shot, he could be a first rounder after next year. JMO

Seems like lots of people have no understanding how hard it is to stick in the NBA. Two thirds of our All American Backcourt in 2005 couldn’t stick around for more than a couple years

Luther was six seasons, making and I believe had earnings of over $2.5 mil his final season, and Deron was an all-star that made a fortune. Wouldn't call that sticking around for a couple years. But yes, it's hard to stick, especially from the 2nd round.

We're gonna have an easier non-conference schedule next year...right?

Do we know any of the games at this point? B1G/ACC, Braggin' Rights, possibly a Gavitt Game, anything else?

I think he was talking about Dee.

BU adjusts to playing Giorgi at the post pinch 4 position only with Kofi low....Giorgi is a heck of a passer and controls the ball plus he will develop a better 15' shot and drive with his footwork from there.

If Giorgi can regularly knock down that 15 footer, along with his passing, he would be a good candidate for some high - low action: Pass over or under to the 5, hit that jumper, or drive with another big rebounding or walling off.

I WOULD BE QUITE HAPPY WITH THIS KIND OF "STICK" :)

If you look at the mins, pts. and rebounds Neb and NW lose the most. WI,PU, MSU, and OSU all lose about 60 mi
Good grief, these two teams in particular are being absolutely gutted.

In order of minutes lost Neb 118, NW 100, Minn 73, WI 61, OSU 60, MSU 60, PU 59, Ind 45, PSU 36, Ill 36, Mich 32, Iowa 19, RU 18, Maryland 5 without adding time for potential draftees or transfers. The last three are basically unaffected and will be better next year. Some will have covered by incoming class but Neb looks like a disaster without many recruits at this point.

I’ll be happy to see both Northwesternsux and Minnesota regress to their natural place at the bottom of the conference. It restores my faith in nature 😝

TF- All B1G caliber player
AD- future NBA pick
TJ- question mark, but maybe highest ceiling of any player on the team
GB- All B1G caliber player
KC- freshman bigs are hard to predict, but should be instant impact player

Add Feliz off the bench and this line up should win some games. If we don't make the tourney, BU's seat will become quite toasty.

@Arizona and @GCU I believe?

Adding 5 inches to the PF and 4 inches to the SF position should make a huge difference in rebounding and rim protection. Another year of age and Fletch will not hurt Giorgi and Ayo as well. Not as enthusiastic about potential transfers due to our past experience but will be happy to be wrong.

Fair enough and I know I could have googled it, but how much money could he have left after he paid for everybody to walk on. :)

Seriously though, I thought he was going to have a better career after he scored a bunch of point in the rookie vs 2nd year game at the all star break and then it seemed like I never saw him play again.

last year we were 4-15 against conference opponents, this year we were 8-14. Say what you want, but Underwood has proven that not only Groce’s guys weren’t going to cut it, but he had a better record this season being younger and with mostly “his guys”. If “his guys” buy in and stay for next year, no reason to believe we will have a worse conference record. Try to prove me wrong.

and based on my previous point, we very very very likely will have an easier/less demanding non-conference schedule. win 7/8 nonconference games, win 9/10 conference games, win a game in the BTT, and we are at least on the bubble. absolutely no reason why this group can’t make that type of jump. that’s only 1-2 more conference wins, same BTT record, and being respectable in the nonconference.

Honestly I hope Kipper leaves, I am all the way out on him. Nothing personal but at this point he's just not part of where this program is heading. Yes he has the ability to randomly go off for 20, but the problem is that he only does that once or twice a season, and in the meantime he gets starts pretty much every game in the hopes that today is the day we catch lightning in the bottle and get good Kipper. I won't question his work ethic or dedication or character or any of that, but I highly doubt he will ever consistently contribute at a high level. So really all he's doing is taking away minutes from young guys who are the future of this program and who could use game experience. Imo we would've been much better off giving Tevian Kipper's minutes (when he was eligible, not gonna argue about the suspension) because at least he would've gotten meaningful game experience in a season that was pretty much already lost by the time B1G play started (and I'd be much less worried about the possibility of him transferring). I would've even rather given his minutes to DaMonte.

To knitpick....Kipper hasn't started since I don't know when, he will be gone imo if his status allows him to go. DaMonte brings far more to the court so I agree he should have gotten the minutes, Jones is still so awkward and lost defensively, hence he sat alot....he will bring alot more next year and both DMW and Jones will benefit from AJ grad asst coaching them forward!

I think he was talking about Dee.

Well, 2/3 of our backcourt would imply he was talking about Dee, Deron, and Luther. Won't ever forget Augie, though.

Edit: nevermind, I see your follow-up. Reading about him, it looks like he was low-balled. Got a contract offer, but it was rescinded at the last minute. Not sure why he wasn't picked up after that. His last season he shot 39% from 3 and had pretty decent numbers for a back-up PG. Kind of a tweener in some respects, not a PG, not a SG, and only 6'3". But he could definitely play at the NBA level.

This might sound crazy but lets get an offense that takes a shot with-in the first 7 seconds after crossing the mid-court and not let the shot clock run out a few times a game ??

Seems like I saw us sprint down court...only to pull it back out...and then run the weave hand off, only to then not get a shot off.

The big problem with Kipper, Damonte, and in general is that no one really improved from last year to this year. Which player on the roster improved from the previous year?
AJ and GB. I mean Giorgi scored
Less than 10 ppg in high school.

Hadn't seen this quote from Tevian in the News Gazette yet, sounds like he's back: “I kind of took this as a learning experience,” freshman guard Tevian Jones said. “Being able to get this far with so many new guys, that was really good for us. I feel like this created momentum for us going into next season. It wasn’t the outcome we wanted, but I’m very positive right now and very positive for next season.”

Assuming Langford and Fernando go pro, next year's top 4 is UM, MSU, Purdue (if Edward's stays) and Iowa. Seems like a toss up after that.

Wisconsin, IU, Minn., NU and Nebraska have huge losses and I think Illinois passes all those team. It comes down to player development and impact newcomers after that.
