Would Brissett be immediately eligible, or have to sit for a year/hope for a waiver?
Immediately eligible. Grad transfer.

News out of left field, I'm told that Zeriah Beason has stated that he wants to play in the Pac 12. Lovie & AHS are/were very confident in his recruitment, with the close family connection & the fact that Marquez is such a recruiter. He will visit with Marquez in April, along with Keith Miller. We should have a clearer picture of where we stand in his recruitment following that.
I'm sure the staff assessed this. But in one of his 3 games last season he compiled 178 yards receiving. Even at the chance that he can play, the amount he can spread the defense and draw double coverage will clear room for our running backs. Even without 100% knowledge, this a smart risk for one season.
I just couldn't ignore this. As long as the ball is caught is what should be important. I guarantee you will see just as many balls dropped with the hands as you will with the body. That is what one hears from h.s, coaches that have never played receiver. You would have hated Lynn Swann. Some qbs simply throw the balls too hard. Makes it almost impossible to catch when facing the qb. You need to catch the ball as close to your body as possible to keep a db from arm stripping. Many times you need to make first contact with your hands before cushioning it but, you are then using a combination of hands then body. Remember, we are not talking about dbs regarding hands, this is specifically about receivers. He put up some pretty impressive numbers as a KR as well. He had one game where he had 182 kick return yards.
I also like the way he catches the balls with his hands in his highlights. A lot of our WRs try and catch the ball with their body which is why we have so many drops, IMO. We need more receivers who can catch the ball with their hands. They need to snatch the ball out of the air as opposed to letting the ball get too close to their body. If you use your body then the ball is more likely to bounce off your pads or your body and you will drop it. I'm not sure if this is an issue with AHS or not.
If Brissett is healthy then he's an obvious rotational guy for us. Just from looking at his history, he was known more for track than football out of high school which is why he may not have gotten more attention from FBS schools.
Yeah, I get that they're quite interested, but I can't figure out what these tweets mean. Kids really into math? Pie?
Today is national pi day 314, late to the party.Area code, yo.
Edit: Kids still say "yo", right?
I apologize if I responded too harshly to this in my earlier post. I consider you and Dude as two of the most knowledgeable posters on this board. Not that my opinion should carry any great weight on here, lol. It just bothers me, and has for many years, to the degree that I get overly frustrated. So, once again, please accept my apologies. He put up some pretty impressive numbers as a KR as well. He had one game where he had 182 kick return yards.

I’m not sure this door is closed yet.
Kid likes the west coast..Zeriah has scheduled an OV to Oregon St in May
Kid likes the west coast..
AKA he likes the PAC 12 for some odd reasonThis is so odd to me (if true). He likes a geographic area more than any one school?
He would rather go to the west coast and play for any PAC-12 team out there as opposed to a better fit somewhere else in the country? It’s not like the west coast is all one ecosystem. The Pacific Northwest is completely different from SoCal but both of those areas have PAC-12 teams.
It would be more understandable if he simply liked (for example) Oregon st, Oregon, Stanford, Cal, and UCLA or something like that. (Coaches, facilities, campus towns...)
But the vague preference for anywhere on the west coast/any PAC-12 team out there is sooooooo puzzling.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I wonder what the connection/draw is...
