Samba is quicker and more athletic than Kaleb Wesson.
Good point, but Samba wasn't physically ready to play in BIG. Antwan looks like he is. Both could contribute next year. Skills are coachable.

NBA size at 18 isn't though and that's what Kofi has. Watch the videos of Kofi and hear the coaches praise many parts of his game and these are coaches who put out many D1 prospects a year.

Centers typically take a couple years to get strong enough to defend the post. Kofi might be an exception, but there's a lot more to defense than size. Personally, I want to see the full roster before trying to project much. Giorgi looks like a lock for 30+ game, but I'd be curious if any of the other young bigs come along enough to let Giorgi do some different things. I agree that both Antwan looks a bit farther along with his body for the same age, but I'm not sure that will be true with Samba the soph vs Antwan the freshman.

I'm probably going against the consensus of posters, but I'd rather we got another PG as of today. I'm saying this based on thinking we have Ayo and Feliz for 1 more year. I'm not projecting big gains for Da'Monte, so to me, that says we should be keeping an eye on facilitator/ball handler. If we land that grad transfer from SJA, and he sounds like a great addition if can get him, we'll have 3 bigs in the class. Seems like overkill given our backcourt might be very different in a year.

Cameron Lard leaving Iowa State. Had some issues this year, would have to sit out and lose a year because of it. But is definitely an athletic 4 we could use in the program.
im surprised by that. He had a lot of potential there. Loved watching him play aggressive and shot block though he didn't do that as often as he could.

I think it’s highly likely we end up with one of either Hardy (UNLV) or Freeman (Valpo). The question is, which is preferred?

Scanning through the list of transfers:

Barret Benson from Northwestern. 6-10 from Chicago and played on the Illinois Wolves. I think we recruited him at one point.

Staff might be able to take both...

BU knows Hardy well, I would think Hardy might have the slight edge.

However, I have heard that depending on who UNLV hires, Hardy may return.

Also, his brother is a top 5 player in the country for 2021.

If his brother remains a top 5 two years from now, it's still a big stretch to think that will create much traction for a top 5 from Michigan. I thinkin that's most likely either a blue blood or a Michigan school. Especially when you're talking about taking a kid who will sit a year and play two, but squeeze a schollle for three. Older brother's merit will be issue, without regard to the lil' brother. Now if his Dad could be hired as an assistant . . . huh, (where have I heard this before?) Sounds familiar, the odor seems to come from the West, but not too far
west . . .

Hardy. He's already made the sophomore leap (improving FG%, 3FG% with increased volume, doubled RPG and APG) that Freeman would need to make.

I read this morning between mid season transfers and off-season it’s up to 350 young men who have announced their transfer. Speculation is that by the time it’s all done it’ll be 550.

I thought I read today that BU said one-on-one player meetings where they talk about off season improvements and future role are scheduled for next week. I figured we wouldn't hear much about transfers until next week when those go down.

Wouldn't it be our luck that this kid turns into a top recruit in the state for 2023!?!

Class of 2023 SG Jordan Pickett has a chance to be big time. Smooth scorer with broad shoulders. #Mizzou Javon Pickett’s little brother

I would expect Keith Stone from Florida to be a possibility based on size, skill set and eligibility?

My hope is that they see his role the way we do because as I said, I like his potential and his work ethic. Ultimately, it is on the coaches to sell AG on his role and the program and that happens next week as far as we know.

From the News-Gazette 3/26/19:"When we sit down and have meetings with them next week, we identify what guys have to get better at. That’s my favorite part of the job, to be honest, is to be able to help young guys see their weaknesses and now let’s put a plan in place to go work and get better.”
