Bart Torvik's site has predictions already up for next year. He has us listed at 29th. Not too bad considering we are hopefully still going to get 2/3 contributors for next year and lose nobody currently in the model.

My thing is Underwood usually sounds and speaks like he wants it to be, without all the rambling explaining how to get there. Hopefully he was just caught tired and responsive to the same questions repeated and did not really state, "we have the people in place," to do it next year. He is not concise and precise...he's gaining weight and adding words to simple questions. Please don't let me die with another coach telling me how long it will take. With the right payoffs...all the top ten teams do it...we should get those 20 wins. And I'm not even trying to be a dick. I GET what teams do to be a team...that WINS. We are actually too good for this world.

My beach house on Boardwalk (rather fancified I must say) is at no risk with Ayo and draft...I will concede the keys if that happens and I can find them to hand over...:cool:

I know you say enter, but he may declare then withdraw. I think the combine is in Chicago this year? If so, the whole team should declare and go through evaluations together!

Does the summer trip to Italy sway some of the players to stay for the season knowing they'll have that "potentially once-in-a-lifetime" trip if they stick with the team for next season? I would think for a bunch of 18/19/20 year old young men a trip like that could keep you motivated to stay and improve and earn the spot in the rotation next year.

I don’t think this could be further from the truth. This is these kids’ potential careers and livelihoods at stake dependent on where they play and get their degree. They aren’t putting a trip to Italy in the team hotel ahead of that. The Coloseum can wait. And yes I’ve been to Italy.

One of the great things about these trips is ability for new players to get extra practice and competition.....see Duke this year with last summer travel competition. I don't think they thrash Kentucky last fall quite as bad without the prep and competition last summer.

The Illinois men's basketball team manager's were the 2019 Undefeated National champions at 12-0.

The Illini earned their trip to Minnesota on the court, too. They went undefeated this season, including three true road wins. Illinois also had the third highest-scoring offense in the country. The Illini's 94.1 points per game ranked behind just Stetson (102 ppg) and Mercer (100.5 ppg) in the regular season, but no team had a higher average margin of victory than Illinois' 28.4 ppg.

"They're the Golden State Warriors of the managers," Illinois coach Brad Underwood said. "They're skilled. They pass it. Pat Althoff is a guy that's a big point guard, and he shares it. They spray it and they run and make the extra pass. When you can shoot it like them, it causes problems. They're going to shoot it and hope to make a lot more threes than the other team does twos."
