Are we one of the last big 10 schools to do this? I dont know what the norm is

Pet the press release: Illinois will join five other Big Ten schools selling beer in-stadium in the fall of 2019, including Maryland, Minnesota, Ohio State, Purdue and Rutgers.

Tap on the breaks, Don't get too far ahead---
The DIA will figure out a way to screw things up... Old Milwaukee, Natty Light, the Beast--- whoever throws them the best deal.

I'm afraid that we'll be begging for PBR before it's done.

(Though, given the current state of our revenue sports, you'd think they'd be slinging JD and SoCo...)

Make it all old-timey beers that people didn't know still existed. Stroh's, Schlitz, Blatz, or the almighty Stag. In reality I'm sure they'll have Coors Light, isn't that "The Official Beer of the Fighting Illini"?

I'm sure it'll be the same stuff they sold at the Grange Grove beer tent, which was Coors Light, Miller Lite, and Blue Moon. I know there were some other options as well, but can't remember off the top of my head.

I'm cautiously hopeful that their beer selection will mirror what I've historically seen available in both the Colonnades Club along with the premium seating sections at SFC. I have only sat in those sections once each for games, but I distinctly remember having a Riggs Hefeweizen (albeit on tap) in the Colonnades Club two years ago, and a Triptych Little Secret (delicious, like every other Triptcyh beer btw) can in the SFC premium area last year. I'd gladly pay $8 for a Triptych 16oz, so hopefully they can make something work with the local guys.

Do you want trash thrown on the field?
Because this is how you get trash thrown on the field.

Better hope we win a lot more games next year.

As with everything else at this point in time, JoshWhit is at the helm. I do not expect him to screw things up. But, again time will tell...

It’s a telling state of Illini football when the beer thread has more action than the rest of the threads combined in the last week.

Thought the massive recruiting weekend would have a little more buzz around here. Long 7 months of football/basketball though

It’s amwzing that people think allowing adults to drink a legal drink inside a place they paid to be will make it anymore “out of control” than a restaurant, pro sports event, concert or anywhere else that handles this totally normal thing fine.

They might need to serve something stronger by the end of the season. But it's a start.
